Chris-Craft made a lot of these boats…more than 2,500 according to archival records.  And for good reason, they are sturdy, fast, easy to maneuver, attractive, easy to trailer, store, and friendlier on the checkbook than the larger utilities.  This particular boat came to use from central Missouri and already had a new bottom when the owner purchased her.  She was complete, but all the pieces were in two large boxes or in the bilge.  Another jigsaw puzzle…but no problem if you take your time and don’t get too far ahead of yourself.  Our task was to apply the finish, check out the KFL power, install new flooring, and then put her back together and have her water ready.

The attractive Sportsman turned out quite nice, and now the owner can start enjoying her with family and friends.  Now…we just need to get a better trailer under that beautiful hull.
